Central Idea of the Text: After his failure in Egypt, Abram returns to worship and trusts the Lord to give Lot first choice of the land. Lot chooses by sight and moves toward Sodom, the Lord affirms Abram that he and his offspring will possess the land forever. Abram lives by promise, receiving from God what he refuses to grasp for himself and worships at Hebron.
