Before anything existed, God was. In the opening verse of Scripture, Genesis dismantles every competing worldview by declaring that the eternal, self-existent God created the heavens and the earth from nothing by the power of His Word. This truth shapes how we understand our purpose, our accountability, and our need for a Savior. Because the Creator has revealed Himself through creation, no one is without excuse. Yet the God who made all things did not leave us in our rebellion He entered His creation in the person of Jesus Christ to redeem sinners and begin a new creation.
